香港青年成舒海回到大陆老家祖居的村庄写生绘画班邂逅了大陆女子林玄，两人度过了一段甜蜜单纯的短暂时光。但舒海之前已有婚约在身，这场婚姻事关家族生愈的兴衰，舒海必须按约回去完婚。舒海和林玄最终无奈分别，舒海独自回了香港。多年后，舒海去世，留下遗嘱把骨灰送归山村。舒海的侄子和侄女带着舒海骨灰回到山村再次遇见了林玄……。电影通过三个普通人的视角来描写人性的困境，三位美国女子布伦达、艾仑和苏，结伴去海地旅行，观光圣地、风景优美的海地来寻找放松和激情。但是她们却发现了这个天堂岛屿背后的贫穷和危险，目睹了当地的贫困生活和严酷的政权，深深被震撼。。In the latter half of the 19th century, gold is discovered in the Black Hills, an area which has already been allocated to the Dakota Indians as a winter reservation in a treaty.
