女孩格格的母亲是上世纪60年代被送往内蒙草原由牧民抚养的3000名上海孤儿之一，但后来因为某些原因离开了草原并从此失去了与养父母的联系。母亲去世后，格格沉浸在悲伤中。为了完成母亲的心愿，格格踏上去草原寻找外公外婆的旅途，喜欢格格的男孩小凡也与格格一同前往。格格和小凡的寻亲之旅并没有一帆风顺，还好他们遇见了从台湾来草原的森森。接着三人又结识了森森要去的学校的学生蒙古小孩毕力格。在毕力格家稍作停留，却遇到了恐怖的狼群……击退狼群到了毕力格的学校，格格得知外公已经去世，外婆也很久没有消息了。就在草原烟花大会到来的时刻，烟花弹由于受潮放不响，小凡带着新的烟花弹赶来，还带来了担心格格而赶来的继父。。An inept gang of bank robbers, led by George The Brain, are caught and sentenced to 15 years hard labour each.
