该剧主要讲述市委、市政府为解决自然条件极其艰苦、长期不能脱贫的“吉祥村”整体搬迁，与临县最富裕的“刘家村”合并，以及由此产生的新旧矛盾的激烈碰撞。。《我心中的抒情曲》是即便歌唱实力些许不足也对音乐有着热情的自称“屋角抒情爱好者”们展现成长故事的“good抒情者挑战记”。刚开始唱歌的6名出演者直到成为“good抒情歌手”为止，生动地展现左冲右突的故事。栏目组表示：“准备着节目，确认了想要成为good抒情歌手的出演者们的热情，以及对音乐的真心，将真诚地呈现他们的挑战与成长故事。”。Jaya and Yogi set out on a short journey to retrace past relationships and end up in the most eventful, strange, crazy trip of their lives.
