该剧根据弗兰克·塔利斯的小说改编，由《神探夏洛克》的编剧史蒂芬·汤普森负责撰写剧本，故事设定在20世纪的维也纳，讲述师从弗洛伊德的年轻医生Max协助奥地利警探Oskar破案的故事。Max对于人类行为的深入理解，让他为一些神秘莫测的案件提供了不一样的侦破角度...。故事开始讲述了富家大少爷“咸鱼哥”因为过于奢靡的生活作风被父亲扫地出门，被迫开始来姨妈家打工养活自己的日常故事。天生自带“丧”的特质，没了以前的少爷生活，打工让他体会到了穷，但浪还是要一样的浪。这里的岛民与众不同，咸鱼哥和他们每天都发生着爆笑的故事。。‘Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable’ charts the story behind Damien Hirst’s most ambitious project to date.
