讲述了光绪年间，湖南湘江边某小镇，张记酿酒坊的三少爷张三随同父亲试酒。张三爱慕镇上富商之女宣若彤，但与他指腹为婚的李彩莲却穷追不舍。。A private detective helps a prostitute being assaulted, and notices that she is wearing a very unique ring. She is later found murdered and there is no trace of the ring, which turns out to be part of a cache of jewelry stolen by the Nazis during World War II and smuggled out of France after the wary by an American army colonel.
