But the scientist knows how to use this to his advantage...。故事发生在隋朝末年，美女柳絮（俞飞鸿 饰）因行刺隋炀帝（周野芒 饰）未遂，被强令下嫁乞丐二蛋（吴孟达 饰）以示惩罚，次年生下古灵精怪的儿子蛋蛋（叮当 饰）。蛋蛋生于乱世之秋，当时群雄逐鹿、天下大乱，二蛋领着儿子开始了四处漂泊的流亡生活。秦琼（卲峰 饰）与柳絮同出一个师门，情同兄妹，但有缘无份，裴元庆（吴京 饰）少年英雄，曾与柳絮欲结百年之好，不幸英年早亡。为救瓦岗众兄弟于水火，柳絮又忍辱嫁给奸雄王世充（秦焰 饰）。逐渐长大的蛋蛋随父亲多年寻母无果，爷俩只好行乞为生，幸遇师傅刘风（齐景斌 饰）教点杂耍手艺，从此行走江湖，后遇药王孙思邈（刘长生 饰）相赠仙丹，但蛋蛋最挂牵的仍是多年未见的母亲......。
