地处东南亚的一座华人医院，接连发生肿瘤患者死亡以及医生神秘失踪的事件，由此引发了警方对该医院此前违规应用国际违禁治癌新药KEE的怀疑。 该医院董事长英玉华试图力挽狂澜，消除危机，但是医院内盘根错节、暗中较劲的各方势力让他难以下手，于是连忙召回正在德国攻读医学博士学位的养子英纯良（王亚楠 饰）回国。谁知路途凶险，纯良一路频遭毒手，所幸有惊无险，然而英玉华却最终在奸人暗算之下命丧黄泉。决心查清真相的纯良站在最凶险的十字路口，横刀夺爱的昔日同窗朗森、内心钟爱非常的前女友钟美（杨童舒 饰）、觊觎董事长宝座的兄弟英成功以及各色包藏着不同企图的人相继围上来，共同编制了一个冰冷非常的白色陷阱……。The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely.
