三名警察在送三名判刑的犯人入狱前被抢走警枪及杀掉。三名犯人偷车逃到一小镇的酒吧，怎料酒吧原来的非法建筑，根本没有后门，于是三个亡命之徒只好挟持酒吧中的人做人质，向警方索取逃出生命的机会。。该片要讲述的是春秋战国时期，秦昭襄王倾慕齐国孟尝君贤能，两度邀请，最后拜其为相国。后来，秦王听信谗言，担心孟尝君“先齐而后秦”，危及秦国社稷安全，于是罢免了孟尝君，并把孟尝君囚禁起来，图谋杀掉孟尝君。孟尝君趁夜色逃离秦国，到函谷关正是半夜。按当时秦国法规，函谷关每天鸡叫才开门，孟尝君凭借“鸡鸣狗盗”才得以顺利逃离函谷关。。Helen West is a crown prosecutor who cares about people in the criminal justice system and seeks to ensure that justice is done.
